Community Service.

The curricular and extracurricular programmes at Echo Hill School stress the development of the whole person. The school’s concern extends beyond the focus on academic and intellectual achievement and encourages responsible citizenship in the world outside the classroom. Through service to communities, students are encouraged to develop a sense of care for each other, and to accept responsibility for serving their local and national communities. The school has a program of cleaning the nearby community which is done on quarterly basis hence helping to maintain the hygiene of the community.

Our Curriculum.

It offers general academic subjects, vocational and technical subjects. We have two curriculums i.e., the secular and the vocational. In vocational (D.I.T-Directory of Industrial Training) we have; Metal Fabrication, Subsidiary ICT, Clothing & Textile, Performing Arts, Home Economics and Building & Bricklaying. For the secular, it includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Education, Computer Studies, Entrepreneurship Skills, etc. and under the Humanities and Languages we have subjects like Literature in English, Christian Religious Education, Geography, History, Luganda, Lugha ya Kiswahili, Islamic Religious Education etc. Echo Hill School is one of the few schools offering a variety of learning areas to its students. The school has learning areas in all the subject groups examinable by the country’s examining body- UNEB. It is an outstanding school in providing knowledge as well as skills to its students.

Our curriculum design and content is well spiced with a number of subjects encompassing General Technical and Vocational Studies, Humanities and Sciences which enable the learners exit with diversified skills. This explains the reason why we embraced the New Lower Secondary Curriculum and implemented it with a lot of ease. Teaching the five electives designed by the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) presented minimal challenges to Echo Hill School. The learners are handled with a lot of confidence and expertise by the well-trained teaching staff.

For those who under take the D.I.T programs our students are awarded with a national certificate from the Directorate of Industrial Training at the end of their tenure of three years hence leaving school with two certificates.
